Pumpkins

Well, I finally bought some 4 pumpkins for $7.00. Then I drive down the road a little and a woman doing a church fundriser for the past month tells me take as many as I want for free! apparently due to the frost she no longer felt comfortable charging for them. They were all in perfect condition, I swear I am so lucky sometimes. I have 7 now and I am going to go get more

Prayer of offering

1 white votive candle
offering of your choice
picture of your loved one

Light a white votive candle. Lay your offering on your ancestral alter, or next to a picture of your special loved one. Hold your hands together in the prayer position. (Note: The prayer position that most of us are familiar with actually has magickal significance. When you hold your hands together, palm to palm, you are creating a flow of circular energy from the right palm, up your left arm, throught your heart chakra, and down your right arm into your right palm.) Say:

From the dawn of your birth
To the sunset of your death
I honor you.
From the missions you completed
To your duties left undone
I honor you.
From the seasons of your being
Through the cycle of your life
I honor you.
From your time beyond the veil
‘Til your earth entrance back again
May the angles support you
May Spirit surround you
May my healing love reach you
From this moment until the end of time.
So mote it be.

Silver Ravenwolf

I do this every year. It is a very moving ritual.

Halloween Spell

For many witches throughout the world, Halloween is an ideal time to magically do away with weaknesses. The Celts of old, for instance, on Samhain slaughtered all livestock that were too weak to live through the coming winter. Using a quill pen and dragon’s blood ink, write upon a piece of parchment the weaknesses you wish to be rid of. As you concentrate on your intent, crumple up the paper in your “power hand” and toss it into a fire or set it ablaze by holding it above the flame of a black candle. Place it into a fireproof container such as a cast iron cauldron, and as the parchment burns away into ashes, so too shall your weaknesses be consumed by the flames of magic.

Calling the Pumpkins Spell

Try carving up four small pumpkins and then tuck tea-light candles inside. Imagine using these for quarter candles on this October Full Moon. Halloween/Samhain is only a few days away—why not get into the spirit of things and add some enchantment to your group’s Full Moon celebration? Carve the pumpkins in whatever design you prefer: simple faces, stars, a triple Moon, a pentagram, or elemental symbols. As you go to place them at the quarters, try this quarter call.

In the eastern quarter I call knowledge and intuition true.
At the southern quarter I call for passion and courage in all that we do.
Here in the west grant us visions and bless us with love.
In the north I call for security and strength from the gods above.

Sorry I have been neglecting Halloween posts

I am not feeling real hot right now and I just have been letting things I normally care about slide to the back burner. My pain is so bad right now none of my painkillers are working. My doctor is in the process of getting me approved for medical marijuana. Keep your fingers crossed.

Speaking of scary( Sorry about the pic Guys)

Why do men need to watch TV and other weird things while on the toilette.

On the 13 day of Halloween

I wanted to share a wonderful poem I use as part of my Samhain ritual. It is soooo beautiful it makes me cry everytime I read or recite it. So here it is and as always dedicated to all of my loved ones who have passed.

Upon Each Samhain

I miss you most upon each Samhain
When the boundary turns to sheer
I wait until the veil is parted
At the ending of the year.
Sweet spirit, as you walk among us
At the tolling of this eve
I see your face beyond the sunset
And hear your voice upon the breeze.
In the glowing of the candle,
From the shadow on the wall
I watch for you in every movement
And hear your footsteps in the hall.
Can you sit and spend the evening
As the portal opens wide?
Ancestral dead, I bid you welcome
Most recent dead, I pray, abide.
When you come I sense your presence
I put my hand out in the air
A moment, then, we stand united
Palm to palm while waiting there.
I miss you most upon each Samhain
When the boundary turns to sheer
We share these hours until the dawning
Then bid farewell until next year.

Enchanted Halloween Decorations

Color of the day: Black
Incense of the day: Ylang-ylang

Ah October, the season of the Witch is here! Haul out your Samhain/Halloween decorations, but before you put them up, let’s enchant them for protection on this day that is sacred to Mars. The Samhain seasonal colors of orange and black are perfect for this spell. After all, black, red, and orange are Mars colors, too. Use this charm to put some real magic in your decorations this year! Set your decorations out and hold your hands over them while repeating the charm:
I enchant these decorations on this Mars day.
May courage and protection surround us always.
Bats and pumpkins, Witches and ghosts, black cats and ghouls,
Now in my hands, they will become protective tools.
This fun October spell is spun from the heart,
Worked for the good of all with a Witch’s art.
Now, have fun decorating for Samhain and enjoy the season of the Witch.

On the 7th Day of Halloween

PUMPKIN ABUNDANCE LIGHTS

Needed:
6 miniature pumpkins
6 tea lights
knife or other carving tool

Cut off the tops of the little pumkins and clean them out. Cut happy faces into pumpkins and insert the tea lights. Hold your hands over the pumpkins and chant:

" Gold and Silver, money galore. All are coming to your door"

Keep your hands over the pumpkins until your palms tingle or get warm. Give them to your friends, and repeat the spell to them. Tell them to light the candle in the pumpkin at midnight on Halloween to activate the spell.
